Today the Hip-Hop legend celebrates his birthday on the 50th anniversary year of the game.

Last year, Lil Wayne got the biggest gift on his with 22 new RIAA certifications.

Wayne celebrated over the weekend with a massive party, which featured YG, Mack Maine, Keith Sweat and Skip Bayless. To add to the festivities the Recording Industry Association of America granted him 22 new platinum certifications.

The new platinum plaques include “6 Foot 7 Foot,” and “Love Me” featuring Drake and Future, which are now 7x platinum, “How To Love” and “A Milli,” are now 6x platinum; “Right Above It” with Drake, “Drop The World” with Eminem, are now 5x platinum; and “She Will” with Drake and “Mirror” with Bruno Mars are now 4x platinum.

Also, I Am Not a Human Being is double platinum, and Tha Carter V and Tha Carter III are double platinum and 8x platinum respectively.

Lil Wayne entered the game in 1995, at the age of 12! He was signed by Birdman, and joined Cash Money Records, as part of a duo with B.G. and recorded True Story. Wayne and B.G. joined the Hot Boys, with Juvenile and Turk and released their debut album Get It How U Live! in 1997 and became popular following the release of Guerrilla Warfare in 1999 with the song "Bling Bling".

Lil Wayne's went solo with the album Tha Block Is Hot and was his solo breakthrough, but his higher popularity came with his fourth album Tha Carter and fifth Tha Carter II. His sixth album Tha Carter III won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and included "A Milli", "Got Money" (featuring T-Pain), and "Lollipop" (featuring Static Major), which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lil Wayne sold over 120 million records worldwide, 20 million albums and 70 million digital tracks, won five Grammy Awards, 11 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and eight NAACP Image Awards.
