- CELEBRATE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND IN MIAMI
Not only is Memorial Day dedicated to remembering those who gave their lives while serving in the armed forces, it’s also the unofficial kick-off of the summer vacation season. Here in Miami, we’re celebrating the holiday in some great ways.
Salute 365
While the 2020 Hyundai Air & Sea Show over Miami Beach has been canceled, The National Salute to American Heroes (NSAH) and Hyundai have introduced a community-based nomination initiative, titled “Salute 365,” that will recognize local healthcare professionals, first responders and others who are tirelessly fighting this Covid-19 pandemic, and risking their own safety to care for members of the local community.
NSAH accepted nominations for heroes who will be awarded new Hyundai Sonatas as recognition for their outstanding service. The NSAH will select one winner in each of the following three categories: Healthcare Professional, First Responder, and Unsung Community Hero, and present them with a 2020 Hyundai Sonata on Memorial Day! - The city of North Miami held a virtual ceremony Monday on the city’s Facebook page, honoring the fallen heroes with a wreath dedication and 21-gun salute to remember those who gave their lives defending freedom.
