T.I., KILLER MIKE: Renovating Seafood Restaurant

Killer Mike and T.I. have some fish to fry.

The Atlanta rappers announced plans to reopen the Bankhead Seafood restaurant, which opened and closed in Atlanta in 2018. Mike and Tip are working on a complete remodel, with plans to have the restaurant open for business in the next 12 to 14 months. In the meantime, they’ll feed the streets with the new Bankhead Seafood food truck, which should hit the road in the next 30 days.

One smart move they’re making is hiring established food service operators to handle the day-to-day operations. The 120-seat restaurant is also seeking a liquor license.

KILLER MIKE: Denies Being Paid Bernie Sanders Supporter

Killer Mike has been singing the praises of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders since his first run for President back in 2016.

This has led some to accuse him -- along with other celeb like Public Enemy’s Chuck D -- of being a paid. Mike shut the conspiracy theory down by tweeting, “Keep it really real. I accept NO MONEY from any politician. I am already rich.”

He also tried to put himself in the shoes of the average black voter. “If I’m a regular everyday black person in America and Boots Riley, Chuck D and Killer Mike all agree on the same Presidential candidate, I’mma really have to consider that candidate because these three in music and real-life action really give a damn.”

CHANCE THE RAPPER: Sesame Street Star?

Chance The Rapper is taking a trip to Sesame Street.

Collider reports that producers of the upcoming Sesame Street movie want the Chicago rapper to play a mayor’s aide on the big screen. The cheeky casting is a reference to the fact that in real life, Chance is the son of Ken Bennett, advisor to former Chicago mayor Rahm Ehmanuel.

The big screen adaptation will be a musical, with a cast full of big Hollywood stars.

Chance has previously popped up in TV and movies like the horror-comedy Slice, Between Two Ferns: The Movie, and the upcoming Punk’d reboot.
