Future is the latest artist to sell off a major chuck of his song catalog for a massive check.
On Tuesday, September 20, Influence Media Partners announced its acquisition of the first 16 years of Future Hendrix's Grammy award-winning catalog. The music and entertainment company, backed by BlackRock and Warner Music Group, did not disclose the exact amount it paid for Future's hits from 2004-2020. However, they did confirm the rapper received an eight-figure sum for the publishing rights to his solo hits like "Mask Off" and collaborations with the likes of Drake (“Life Is Good,” “Jumpman”), Kendrick Lamar (“King’s Dead”), Rihanna (“Selfish”), and The Weeknd (“Low Life”).
“I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs," Future said about the deal. "I’m proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

The deal was announced right before he released his latest music video off I NEVER LIKED YOU. Shot in Paris, France, "I'm Dat N***a" is the fifth video to come from his new album following "Puffin On Zooties," "Holy Ghost," "Love You Better" and "Wait For U" featuring Drake and Tems.
