According to Blast, Khaled showed up at Epic Records to discuss the issue. And his gripe wasn’t just about ego, but accounting. He apparently cut a bundling deal with an energy drink company that should have earned him an extra 100,000 downloads -- but they were disqualified by Billboard.
Tyler also used a bundling strategy for Igor, giving away copies of the album to people who bought T-shirts and posters. In Khaled’s case, Billboard said that since it didn’t “approve the copy” for Khaled’s promo, the extra 100,000 spins are ineligible.
