This is classic drunk instinct right here, with no plan whatsoever . . .
Someone in northern California called the cops on the Fourth of July about a quote, "very intoxicated" boat operator.
The guy in question was 31-year-old Robert Callahan, who'd been drinking all day and tooling around in his friend's speedboat. And the cops managed to track him down on the lake.
But then when they tried to give him a sobriety test, he threw off his life jacket . . . dove into the water . . . and tried to SWIM away.
The best part is they had to RESCUE him. He only made it about 50 yards before he had to yell for them to come pick him up.
His blood-alcohol level was 0.29, or about three-and-a-half times the legal limit for driving OR boating.
They arrested him for operating under the influence. And his friend who owns the boat also got arrested for public intoxication.
