DIDDY: Another Name Change
Diddy is ready for another name change.
This time, it’s more than Puff Daddy just announcing a new moniker. Sean John Combs has filed paperwork to change his government name to Sean Love Combs. The name is a reference to his nickname, "Brother Love."
He’s changed his stage name a ton over the years. From Puff Daddy to P. Diddy to just plain Diddy. But this is the first time he has tried to change the name on his ID.
He’s still waiting to hear if Los Angeles County Courts will approve the change.
NIPSEY HUSSLE: New Merch Will Benefit Children
Nipsey Hussle’s The Marathon Clothing brand has teamed with designer Jerry Lorenzo on a new capsule collection.
All proceeds will go to a trust fund for Nipsey’s kids, Emani and Kross Asghedom. The 08 Crenshaw collection goes on sale today (Friday) at the Fear of God store in Los Angeles. Items include crewneck sweaters, pullover hoodies, sweatpants and sweatshirts in royal blue and gray.
LIZZO: 100 Percent That Songwriter
Lizzo filed a lawsuit to claim she’s 100 percent that “Truth Hurts” songwriter.
Lizzo told her 6 million Instagram followers, (quote) “The men who now claim a piece of ‘Truth Hurts’ did not help me write any part of the song. There was no one in the room when I wrote ‘Truth Hurts,’ except me, Ricky Reed, and my tears.”
Last week, brothers Justin and Jeremiah Raisen claimed they are owed profits from the hit song. Two years ago they collaborated with Lizzo and supposedly helped write the lyrics that became “Truth Hurts.”
Lizzo’s lawyers disagree. They accuse the Raisen brothers of harassment. The lawsuit said “Truth Hurts” does not “infringe any copyright interest in any unreleased demo song. The Raisens have no right to profit from the song’s success.”
