VERZUZ: Dr. Dre vs. Diddy
There’s talk that the next Verzuz battle could be the biggest showdown of them all.
After Babyface and Teddy Riley racked up over half a million viewers on Instagram Live, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have a plan to take things to the next level. They want Dr. Dre and Diddy to go head-to-head “for the culture.”
The epic matchup would require a change of venue -- from Instagram Live to a “pay-per-view.” If they wind up charging, the plan is to donate the profits and “give back to the people.”
KILLER MIKE: No Rush to Reopen Barber Shop Chain
Artists who own businesses in Atlanta are in no rush to reopen.
Killer Mike, who owns a chain of barbershops called the S.W.A.G. Shop, will keep locations closed on Friday, when Georgia governor Brian Kemp plans to lift the state’s lockdown for barbershops, salons, gyms and other businesses.
Mike says while there’s potential to make a few bucks, it’s not worth risking the health and safety of his employees and customers. He’s also acutely aware of how African-Americans are disproportionately affected by the virus.
The mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Bottoms, also agrees with Mike. She tells CNN that her mom owned a hair salon for over 25 years, so she understands.
If you're going out to get a cut or personal grooming services right now, you must really be trying to get "fresh to death."
DJ KHALED: "We the Cleanest"
DJ Khaled isn’t just “the best,” he’s “the cleanest!”
Khaled and his son Asahd star in a new spot for Dove. In the clip, they wash their hands together, which is followed by an animated part... Plus it has an original track featuring Khaled himself... Now it only takes 20 seconds to wash your hands, but trust me, that song will be stuck in your head all day long.
