LUDACRIS, NELLY: Verzuz Recap

It was Atlanta versus St. Louis in the latest Verzuz battle, which saw Ludacris and Nelly going head-to-head.

The battle almost didn’t happen, it was delayed by nearly an hour as Nelly battled with technical difficulties. Luda kept 300,000 plus viewers entertained by playing a new music, one song was produced by Timbaland featuring Lil Wayne, called “Silence of the Lambs.” He also premiered a new song with Chance the Rapper.

And at the end of the battle, he debuted an unreleased "Money Maker" remix featuring Nelly. And they even though talked about doing a Ludacris vs. Nelly tour in the future.

VERZUZ: Who's Next?

After this past weekend’s superstar Verzuz showdown of Ludacris and Nelly, the talk has shifted to which artists should face-off next.

One match-up tossed out there was Busta Rhymes versus Missy Elliott. At first, there was speculation that Busta wouldn’t take the challenge, with the potential to get washed by a woman. But during the after-show, he told Swizz Beatz that Missy is absolutely a worthy competitor.

Another suggestion tossed around was Brandy against Monica. Though Brandy is down to take part in a future Verzuz, she's not into revisiting the rivalry that has followed her throughout her career.

There seems to be a lot of momentum behind a Verzuz featuring Usher. There was mixed reaction to the idea of Usher - Justin Timberlake battle, but it seemed like everyone was aligned that Usher vs. Chris Brown is necessary “for the culture.”

DREAMVILLE FESTIVAL: Canceled for 2020

The Dreamville Festival is officially canceled for 2020.

The second annual event from J. Cole and his label was originally slated for April, and later postponed to August. Now, promoters have made the difficult decision to call things off.

They said in a statement, “This decision has been extremely difficult to make, but the safety of our fans, artists, and staff is always our top priority, and nothing will ever take precedence over your well-being."

Anyone who bought a ticket before May 22nd will be automatically refunded. If you bought a physical ticket, there is a refund request form you’ll have to fill out to get your money back.
