Beyonce gave a commencement address to the Class of 2020 over the weekend.
It was part of YouTube’s virtual “Dear Class of 2020” ceremony, which included tons of famous folks like Alicia Keys and Megan Thee Stallion offering up inspiring words to this year’s grads. Barack and Michelle Obama introduced Queen Bey to the virtual podium. During her speech, she offered up some affirmations -- acknowledging that Black Lives Matter, Queer Lives Matter, and so does everyone who falls into an “other” category. She addressed the recent police violence against folks like George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. But she also offered up hope for the future, encouraging the students to invest in themselves and believe in their dreams.
