R. KELLY: Judge Rules to Keep Jury Anonymous
The jury for R. Kelly’s trial in Brooklyn, New York will be kept anonymous.
Judge Donnelly approved a request by prosecutors to keep the identities of jurors under wraps, despite protests from Kelly’s lawyer. In the end, Donnelly ruled, “Empaneling an anonymous jury is appropriate given the seriousness of the charges, the defendant's history of obstructing the judicial process, the potential for juror intimidation and the intensity of media attention given to this case… Social media will become a tool for the harassment and intimidation of the jurors should their identities be made public.”
TRAVIS SCOTT: Reason Behind Instagram Account Deactivation
We now know the real reason Travis Scott deleted his Instagram page.
There was initially speculation that La Flame deactivated his account to promote an upcoming project -- like the release of his new album, Utopia. Then there was the theory that he was roasted so bad over his Halloween costume that he needed a social media break to heal his bruised ego. But now a Page Six source has given us the scoop on his true motivation behind the abrupt account deactivation. “Halloween had nothing to do with it. He is focusing on his family and their well-being and wants to influence his fans to do the same instead of being so consumed with social media.” The source added it’s “important” for Scott to step away from social media during “such a critical time in the world right now.”
More of us could use a break from the toxicity and negativity of social media these days.
