The 2025 Oscar nominees have been unveiled, and several Black stars earned nods.

On Thursday (January 23), Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott announced the nominees for the 97th annual Academy Awards after Academy leadership acknowledged the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

Black nominees included Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, who could join the few artists to achieve EGOT status, winning awards at the Emmys, Grammys, Tonys, and Oscars. Zoe Saldaña also scored her first Oscar nomination for her role in Emilia Pérez.
