Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam On Producing For Musical Icons, New Music + More

This morning on The Breakfast Club we had a couple of ICONS on the show, Terry Lewis and Jimmy!

Being legends in the game themselves the two have worked together with the likes of Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Usher, Mary J.Blige, Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie and so many more. After almost 40 years of making music together, the two just released their brand new album "Jam & Lewis, Vol. 1" this month. The record features the likes of Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, Toni Braxton amongst others.

On the show today the duo shared a plethora of stories about their multiple decade-spanning music career and even broke down how they got fired by Prince after working with The S.O.S. Band because Prince at the time didn't want them working with other acts.

"It was the worst day of our life, it was a blizzard in Atlanta, but we're from Minnesota, so for us, it was a dusting of snow, closed the whole airport down, we were trying to get on any plane to get out we just wanted to get out of the city, we had never missed a gig in our lives, you never miss a gig so that was devastating enough and we know Prince was going to find out about it. The day we get fired, Prince fires us, he called us and told us to meet him at Sunset Sound, we get in a little room, and Prince just goes I told you guys not to mix other acts and you produced the SOS band and I was like cool I'm out"
