President Joe Biden said Tuesday that his administration plans to order 100 million additional doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, in an effort to increase the shipments to states to approximately 10 million doses a week.
These new orders up the U.S. purchases by 50-percent to 600 million shots, which should cover 300 million people.
The goal of 10 million doses to states ups the weekly distribution by 16 percent. The government has also vowed to offer states better forecasts on upcoming shipments. (Bloomberg)
